Stage 1 at the Pan House

New York - The place is Thomas Jefferson High School Athletic Complex, Brooklyn, New York. The date is September 1, 2001.  On one of the coldest September nights in recent history, New York Steelbands come together to host the greatest New York steelband Panorama to date.  The group is Pantonic Steel Orchestra {www.Pantonic.com}.  The arranger is the master, Clive Bradley.  Their tune of choice for this year's event is "Stranger" by the Mighty Shadow.  This performance is considered by many to be an all time classic. Trinidad - The place is Desperadoes' pan yard, Laventille, Trinidad. The date is the eve of panorama, Friday, February 20, 2004 at 2:00 in the morning.  When Steel Talks are invited guests of the fabled music organization - Desperadoes Steel Orchestra.  The band consists of 120 players. New York - The place is City Hall, New York, New York. The date is August 26, 2002.  The event is the 2002 CASYM New York tour. The group is CASYM Steel Orchestra {www.CASYM.com}, one of the most versatile groups in the USA.   The conductor/arranger is the skillful, Arddin Herbert.  Vocalist is dramatic soprano Anne Fridal, who has performed with the New York City Opera, the Royal Opera House in London and has wowed Pan Fest audiences for 10 years.  The song is "Carmen."  Captured by Basement Recordings...  [enter Stage 1]


Trinidad - The place is Renegades' pan yard, 138 Charlotte Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad.  The date is the eve of panorama, Friday, February 20, 2004 at 2:45 in the morning.   When Steel Talks  are again invited guests of this legendary music organization - Renegades Steel Orchestra.    The arranger is the music giant, Jit Samaroo.  Their tune of choice for this year's event is "Pan on the Road" by Jit Samaroo and Michael Marcano.  Captured by Basement Recordings... New York - The place is Marsican's panyard, Schenectady Ave., Brooklyn, New York. The date is Wednesday September 01, 2004 at 11:00 pm When Steel Talks are guests of New York's popular Marsicans Steel Orchestra  {www.Marsicans.panonthenet.com}.
Marsicans is one of the fastest rising groups in the USA.   Their conductor/arranger for the New York panorama is

Trinidad - The place is Phase II Pan Groove's pan yard, Woodbrook, Trinidad. The date is the eve of panorama, Friday, February 20, 2004 at 4:00 in the morning.  When Steel Talks are invited guests of the world-famous steel orchestra- Phase II Pan Groove.  At the practice session, the band can consist of over 150-plus players. The arranger is the great one, Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe.  Their tune of choice for this year's event is "We Like To Play" by Mr. Sharpe.  Captured by Basement Recordings... [enter Stage 1]


Japan - "PANPLE plays an active part as a steelband in Kansai Region, Japan.  In the beginning, our band had only a few members.  We were moved by Caribbean Magic when they came to Japan.  We had no sponsor, no funds, and not enough musical instruments for our band.  But we always had our dreams and goals.  We played anywhere to buy instruments with our performance income.  We are still a small band,  but we have grown big enough to play at the Japanese Pan Festival.  Panple hopes to teach the steelpan to China and Korea so that a lot more Asian people will begin to play the steelpan."   Panple at Nagata Latin music street playing "War."  [enter Stage 1]
