Atlanta, Georgia,
USA: Pansonics Steel Band, one of Atlanta’s leading
steel bands, will be bringing Caribbean culture to the metro Atlanta community
in the United States.
This New Year’s Eve, they will grace the streets of
Atlanta bringing the melodic sounds of the steel drum and Caribbean flavor to
ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) and SEC (Southeastern Conference) fans at the
Chick-fil-A Bowl Parade.
Vere Henry, Artistic Director and
arranger for Pansonics Steel Band, commented on their participation in the
parade, saying,
“This is the perfect opportunity to introduce the community at
large to Pansonics Steel Band, and provide a cultural experience through steel
pan music.”
The Chick-fil-A Bowl parade will
take place Thursday, December 31, 2009 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. It will begin
at the intersection of Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill Boulevard and end at
