Tragedy for Trinidad’s Southern Steelband Community

Female Panist murdered

Trinidad & Tobago. W.I. - The steelband community is reeling in shock from the news of the unbelievable murder of twenty year-old Petra Abraham - a talented panist with Marabella-based Southern Marines Steel Orchestra.  It occurred last night, Tuesday November 16, in Trinidad, shortly before 11:00 p.m.
 

According to reports, Petra was on her way home from a netball event, and stopped off with friends for refreshments, when the establishment was help up by two armed men. When Petra attempted to flee, she was cold-bloodedly shot in her back.  She later died from of her injuries.

The prayers of the entire When Steel Talks family go out to Petra's own family, friends and fellow Southern Marines Steel Orchestra family in the face of this heart-rending and outrageous tragedy.
