Trinidad &
Tobago, W.I. - Tobago will be
the next stop for the Pan Trinbago sponsored
Pan in De Countryside series.
The third in the six-part pan concerts
will take place on Sunday 3rd
July in Parlatuvier, Tobago, from
2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
Redemption
Sound Setters
Participating
bands in order of appearance are San
City, Westside Symphony, East Side Symphony,
Arima Golden Symphony, Royal Bank Redemption
Sound Setters and Katzenjammers Steel
Orchestras.
As the
name suggests, Pan in de Countryside
is taking steel pan and its music to
people in rural areas of Trinidad &
Tobago. Other concerts have been
planned for Toco and Blanchisseuse in
Trinidad, in August and September respectively.
The concerts are free to the public.
In other
pan-related news, the keenly contested
Pan in the 21st Century/Down
Memory Lane competitions have been cancelled
due to “a fall in sponsorship.”
However,
Pan Trinbago has announced the return
of the Friday after-work limes at the
Queen’s Park Savannah courtyard, Port-of-Spain.
Dates for these events are June 24th,
July 8th and July 15th
2011. The names of the featured bands
will be made available in a subsequent
announcement.
