Sons of Steel Concert goes to Trinidad & Tobago

Global -  “Sons of Steel Concert” branded as the ‘alternative steelpan event’ for Carnival 2013, promises to be an exciting and exhilarating night for music lovers. Merging their unique talents on steel, Noel, Earl Jr. and Olujimi La Pierre will be gracing the stage for the fist time ever to perform together in Trinidad at Cascadia Hotel & Conference Center on January 31.

Upon hearing the name ‘La Pierre,’ thoughts are immediately of the steelpan. The La Pierre family is not only a household name for panists worldwide, but also one that equates an exceptional dose of natural talent, passion and execution of steelpan music. Born to the legendary Earl La Pierre, Sr. - the man responsible for introducing steelpan to the Cayman islands and Canada - the three sons are not only panists but entrepreneurs and tutors utilizing the instrument as a means of sustainability.

The Sons of Steel concert was conceptualized by Earl Jr. and his two brothers, wanting to pay tribute to their grandmother. It was always her dream, says Earl Jr., “for us to be together and the concert was the perfect forum for this. It’s time we fulfill this dream and show the world what the La Pierre family has to offer.” The concert was first debuted in Toronto, Canada, last year and garnered tremendous response. Now with the show’s Trinidadian debut, the three brothers see it fit to give their fans a unique first-time performance in the country.

The night also features special performances from Earl La Pierre, Sr. and an after party with the electrifying KV Charles and more.
