New York -
The newest member to the New York steelband music
fraternity, New York Pan Stars, made it's musical performance debut
at the historic Restoration Plaza in Bedford Stuyvesant,
Brooklyn, New York. In addition to providing New York
steelpan enthusiasts with their first glimpse of the new
orchestra, the occasion also doubled as the official launch for
the organization.
In addition to Pan
Stars, present and performing were ADLIB Steel Orchestra,
Harmony Steel Orchestra, Hearts of Steel, Ambassadors Steel
Orchestra, Pantonic Steel Orchestra and Steel Sensation.
Steelpan performing icons Dane Gulston and Yohan Popwell also provided solo performances.
The audience was very receptive and supportive of Pan Stars'
first performance.
New York Pan Stars enter an already competitive arena that is home
to some
of the best steelbands in the USA.
