New York - As further evidence of the globalization and
intercontinental popularization of steelpan music - in
less than a week of its release, the CD, Pan in New York
2007 - the PanYard Recordings Series, has generated
interests literally from every part of the globe.
Web sites displaying or carrying short samples of the CD
performances reported heavy site activity this week past
in terms of purchases, enquiries and listening
opportunities. Indeed, the participating New York
steelbands like Sonatas, Pantonic and others have become
household names and required listening among steelband
music educational organizations, including collegiate,
high school and other institutions of learning.
WST normally experiences 100,000 of hits weekly, with
10,000's of independent visitors, however this week
there was a sharp increase in educational and oversee
websites particularly on webpages dealing Pan in New
York recordings.
