And “We Beat” Goes On - longstanding Steelband & Cultural Celebration back on track

Trinidad & Tobago, W.I. - The St. James Community Improvement Committee (St. James CIC) is happy to inform the public that, thanks to Trinidad & Tobago’s Ministry of Tourism, WeBeat - St. James Live, scheduled to run from June 7th through 15th 2013 at the St. James Park and Amphitheatre is back on track.

The decision was taken after the Minister of Tourism, The Honorable Stephen Cadiz, M.P. became aware of the cancellation of the event. The Minister, acknowledging the importance of WeBeat to the National Tourism thrust and its role in fostering same, promptly invited the St. James CIC to a meeting at the St. James Amphitheatre.

Minister Cadiz viewed the site, listened to the challenges faced by the Committee in staging the event and gave his Ministry’s pledge, not only to assist with the readiness of the facility, but also to confirm the Ministry’s position as Title Sponsor of the event.

A visibly-relieved president, Mr. Earl Crosby, expressed sincere thanks to the Minister on behalf of the St. James CIC for coming to the rescue of the Event.

Going forward, Minister Cadiz promised to work with the St. James CIC to correct some of the infrastructural shortcomings of the facility.

The Committee is already back at work implementing plans for another successful WeBeat - St. James Live where the various cultural sounds and sights of this community-cum-national festival will be on display. The lights are back on.
