LYRICS

Verse 1

Since the OSHA Safety Bill
People asking me
Where would Pan men go
In an emergency
Will they run around the yard
Helter skelter
Will they behave like they mad
Bawling for murder
I tell them Oh no, no
Players from near and far
We will assemble
In the savannah

Chorus 1

We muster point
Queen’s Park Savannah
We muster point
Bands from all over
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
Jam all day
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
For we fans to dingolay
One we could set the Northern Range
And the sun set over Laventille
We would be happy, we will be happy (repeat)
Hurricane or storm
Earthquake or tsunami
In the savannah is where we will be
We will be jumping up without fear
The muster point I will be there

Verse 2

We survive all kind of threat
Coming through the years
Even foreigners saying
That the Pan is theirs
And big developers
They want all the land
Giving we horrors
Throwing out we Pan
But in spite of all
The adversity
We just go back to where
We are most happy

Chorus 2

We muster point
Queen’s Park Savannah
We muster point
Bands from all over
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
Jam all day
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
For we fans to dingolay
One we could set the Northern Range
And the sun set over Laventille
We would be happy we will be happy (repeat)
Hurricane or storm
Earthquake or tsunami
In the savannah is where we will be
We will be jumping up without fear
The muster point I will be there

Verse 3

This is not bout Pan Suicide
Ah telling Gypsy
We have been in Savannah
Since 1963
Pan Am Jet North Stars
Won the first ‘Rama
They did it back to back
I could remember
Then Cavaliers
Them Guinness Boys could play
Sixty-six was ‘Radoes
When they used to be gay

Chorus 3

We muster point
Queen’s Park Savannah
We muster point
Bands from all over
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
Jam all day
Ones we could jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam, jam
For we fans to dingolay
One we could set the Northern Range
And the sun set over Laventille
We would be happy we will be happy (repeat)
Hurricane or storm
Earthquake or tsunami
In the savannah is where we will be
We will be jumping up without fear
The muster point I will be there

William Bannister aka Dr. Will B
William Bannister

William Bannister, more fondly known as “Dr. WillB,” has been a patriarch of Trinidad & Tobago culture for the past 40 years. “Dr. WillB” was born on May 29th, 1951 to Sarah and Goldbourne Bannister. With his parents hailing from Tobago and Barbados respectively, “Dr. WillB” is a true Caribbean man who has Trinidad and Tobago culture deeply entrenched in him.

Always having an affinity for the arts, “Dr. WillB” began dabbling in the arts in the 1970s with a number of carvings and sketches. He was able to further develop his raw talent after having attended the John Donaldson Technical Institute and completed a course in screen printing.  After leaving the Institute, “Dr. WillB” maintained his passion for design and art when he designed and released a line of screen printed and hand painted t-shirts and dress shirts in the late 80s and early 90s, which were well received by buyers.

Continuing to hone his artistic skills “Dr. WillB” changed his medium from clothing to canvas in the year 1995. Painting a series of culturally influenced pieces such as “Acid Test”, “Drumology”, “Cultural Mix”, “Engine Room” and “Family Life”, propelled him even further into the world of portrait painting. After this, he began a second series entitled the “Calypso Icons Series”. This series included the portraits of the Mighty Sparrow, the Lord Kitchener, Calypso Rose, The Lord Pretender, Valentino, The Mighty Shadow, The Mighty Duke, Lord Nelson, and The Mighty Bomber.

His work can be found in several state organisations including the Ministry of The Arts and Multiculturalism, Pan Trinbago and the Trinbago Unified Calypso Organization. “Dr. WillB” has also been an avid pan player and is a calypsonian singing with the Klassic Ruso calypso tent.  Weaving many a thread through Trinidad and Tobago’s cultural tapestry, “Dr. WillB” continues to richly add to Trinidad & Tobago’s culture through his artistic endeavours.
