LYRICS

Verse 1

Keshorn! The Javelin Champion!
You created history, celebrate the victory
Keshorn! The Javelin Champion!
A javelin, Keshorn Walcott he fling
A javelin, so now we sing
For this Carnival, we bound to get on bad
Is Gold for Trinidad
Make the whole nation so glad
Jump with yuh flag,
And wave like yuh mad
So proud of what you do
My Keshorn, this one is for you.

Chorus

Jump up! Jump up!
Keshorn this one for you
Keshorn! All the big goliaths you slew
Keshorn! The world’s best you did outdo
Keshorn! You really the best for true
So it’s now they know
Toco is in Trinbago
Toco gih you the “zepo”
To pelt the javelin fuh so
Keshorn you truly marvelous
For the recognition
That your feat brought for us
And you were so cool not a fuss
Come on Trinbago, come on Trinbago
Let us remember, Keshorn
Now and forever, Keshorn
Let us remember, Keshorn
Now and forever, Keshorn
You gave us inspiration
You gave us satisfaction
So Keshorn, this one is for you.

Verse 2

Keshorn! Better known as ‘The Beast’
Full of humility
No bragging, not in the least
Keshorn! Champion from the East
The Toco beach, was your stadium track
Upward you reach, no turning back
Pelting coconut, was your only foundation
With one conviction
To be a champion
As we witnessed in the sky so blue
The javelin that flew
My Keshorn, this one is for you.

Chorus

Verse 3

Keshorn! Example for the youth
If you have the discipline,
You will win and that’s the truth
Keshorn! Respectful, not uncouth
A shining start, a true exemplar
Really you are, a superstar
Youths of this country,
Let this now be your motto
To earn your own Lotto
And to win for Trinbago
A medal that’s gold and is new
And to join that special crew
So I’ll sing, this one is for you.

Chorus

Edwin Pouchet:

Composer and arranger Edwin Pouchet- Edwin grew up in pan, hearing pan morning, noon and night.  His bigger brother Junior Pouchet was synonymous with the band Silver Stars. When Junior migrated to Orlando to work with Disney World, Edwin took up the mantle and brought the band back in the limelight after a 10-year break.  Edwin proved to be a creative and exciting arranger reviving some of the band’s trademark selections as well as introducing new ones. The band made its name in the medium category of the steelband competitions winning with Pure Party in 2004. He also won the first “Pan in the 21st Century” competition with Love Theme as well as with the popular Phantom of the Opera.
